The importance of adhering to the attendance policy

At Tayba Higher Institutes for Training, regular attendance is considered an essential part of the learning experience and academic success. We strive to foster discipline and responsibility among our students by emphasizing the importance of attending lectures and training sessions to achieve educational goals.

Attendance Policy

  • Adherence to the schedule:
All students must adhere to the schedule and attend on time according to the official class timetable.

  • Attendance Recording:
Attendance is recorded electronically or manually at the beginning of each educational session, and this record is considered an official reference for determining the attendance rate for each student.

  • The required attendance percentage:
The student’s attendance percentage must not be less than 75% of the total credit hours for each course.

Absence policy

  • Permitted leave:
A student may be absent from studies with a prior excuse, provided that he submits the necessary documents (such as medical reports or official letters) to the administration.

  • Unjustified absence:

    • If a student is absent without an acceptable excuse, it will be considered an unjustified absence.
    • The administration will take the necessary actions in accordance with the policies outlined below.
  • Consequences of exceeding the absence rate:

    • If a student exceeds the allowed absence rate (25% of credit hours), this may lead to:
      • He was barred from taking the final exams.
      • Recording the failing grade in the relevant subject.

Procedures to follow in case of absence

  1. First warning:
An initial warning is sent if the student exceeds 10% of the credit hours.
  2. Second warning:
A second warning is sent when the student exceeds 20% of the credit hours.
  3. Final action:
If the absence rate exceeds 25%, the student is officially notified of the decision to suspend him.

Special exemptions

  • In emergency or exceptional cases (such as critical health conditions), a student may apply for a review of absence rates by providing the necessary evidence.
  • Applications are evaluated by a specialized committee for consideration.

Late arrival

  • Repeated lateness to the start of a lecture is considered a form of partial absence.
  • Three instances of lateness are counted as an absence for a full day.

Student responsibility

  • Students should regularly review their attendance records to ensure their accuracy.
  • The obligation to provide excuses for absence as soon as possible to avoid any penalties.

The role of faculty and administration

  • Faculty members are required to accurately record attendance and absence and to report any violations to the administration.
  • The institute’s administration is working to provide an effective monitoring system to promote academic discipline.
